Pete Nikol (short from Peter Nikolov) was born in Sofia, Bulgaria on 22 December 1980. Still very youngling only at age of 5 he sat on his chair next to a section that looks like a piano, and began to imagine: he plays on it.
His parents paid attention to that and presently bought him an expensive piano. After that Peter began a piano lessons and solfeggio. When he sited on the piano, he began to play various melodies that no one have ever heard before. Even his teachers was surprised from his talent to play unique music. After beginning the school at age of 7 , Peter abandon piano lessons and continued to practice pianoon his own. Peter's childhood passed in listening and exploring some musical styles like R'n'B, Disco , Rave, Techno and even Jazz.
The very first interest in club music came in 1995 when the wave of Rave and Trance was popularized in his country. Before long Peter began to visit various Techno parties of big DJ stars like Sven Vath, Josh Wink, Electric Universe and many more.
In the year of 1997 he discovered that he likes more slowly and more soft tracks. House music takes a first place in Peters favorite music list since then. During this time Peter met many DJ friends. He always was curious about the music they play and ask for giving him a CD or record .
After finishing the army Peter became an offer to study DJ'ing. There was no doubt about the decision. He began to study hardly how to mix music. Thanks to his friend Emanuil Petrov, Peter soon began to work alone in the night clubs (the autumn of 2000).
Peter's artistic name became Costass. Many people ask him what’s the meaning. Costass is a name inspired by a famous hotel in France called Costes, Peter changed a few letters in the name and his artistic alias now is Costass. Few months later he was invited to play in some average size clubs in the capital. Costass took a part in the DJ contest called "Stack Attack DJ's" - he wasn’t credited.
Costass style of playing music is various and never boring. From deep and dark to electro and progressive house, his music sets are favorite for many people including DJ's. Very important part of all this time is meeting and playing with Bulgarian DJ star Georgio B.
Costass continues to practice piano improvisations, but this time more digitally than ever. Working hard at home making different style of music like chill-out, house and even drum’n’bass.
Escadia makes his first move into the digital releases in November 2007 for Ocean Drive Records with his first debut track dedicated to his ex-girl friend "Sylvia". "Sylvia" is track that many people give theirs positive feedbacks a long time before the releasing of the track. The track was released under name DJ Costass.
Next big move to Escadia was recently released track "Dreamland" for one of the major and biggest label for underground music - GLOBAL UNDERGROUND. Dubfunk is the man that discover the new talent of Escadia and decide it to promote his track "Dreamland" in the great selected mix named "Digitized Vol.2" Escadia's name appears to great names like Eelke Klejn, Gui Borrato , Gareth Emery, Trick & Kubic and others. This track receive massive positive feedback from a lot of people after being released.
Escadia is moniker name used by DJ Costass for releasing all future projects. Many new releases will be at digital web shops , beginning with from February 2008. Minimum one track per month will be released until the end of this year from Escadia.
The album project Digital Iterations is almost finished but still don't have a official date for releasing. Still not known that this project will be release on digital stores and not known that will be signed to any label. |
